Stringer receiver Omarion Bridges goes up to catch a pass against Enterprise Friday night.

Stringer’s Jackson Parker connected with Omarion Bridges twice for touchdowns in the second half, but the Enterprise Bulldogs had already done enough damage throughout the entire game to nail down a 24-16 win over the Red Devils in Stringer Friday night.

Enterprise used a confusing ground game attack that chewed up a lot of yards through four quarters, and the Red Devils couldn’t quite figure it out. On the other side of the ball, Stringer struggled offensively on the ground through the first half, and Parker took over behind center for Bridges in the second half through the air to give the Red Devils a fighting chance, but it was too little, too late.

Kristian Milsap weaved through the Stringer defense on a 17-yard touchdown run to give Enterprise a 6-0 lead with 8:23 left in the second quarter. Stringer was forced to punt on the next series, and the Bulldogs went right back to work on the ground. With the ball at midfield, Milsap and Ridge Kidd quickly peeled off two runs that set Enterprise up at the Stringer 18 yard-line. John Campbell capped the drive with an 18-yard touchdown run to cushion the Bulldogs’ lead 12-0 before the half.

Enterprise extended its lead on the first series of the second half, after a Stringer onside kick attempt went out of bounds. With a short field, the Bulldogs drove 52 yards, chewing up clock, , and Milsap eventually scored his second TD of the night on a 1-yard run to hand the Bulldogs an 18-0 advantage.

Later in the third quarter Stringer’s Zae Strong recovered a fumble to give the Devils a bit of life. Set up at Red Devil’s 35-yard line, Parker whizzed a pass to Bridges that advanced the Red Devils to the Enterprise 30-yard line. On fourth down, Parker connected with Bridges on a 29-yard touchdown strike, and the Devils trailed 18-7 with 8.4 seconds left in the third quarter.

The Bulldogs punched back though. Another Stringer onside kick attempt set Enterprise up with good field position. Milsap, Campbell, and Kidd methodically plowed the ball down Stringer’s throat for 56 yards, and Derryon Gray capped the drive with a 1-yard score to move the scoreboard digits to 24-7 with 9:21 remaining in the game.

Later in the fourth, a bad punt snap led to a safety and two points for Stringer. Parker and Bridges eventually hooked up again on a 6-yard touchdown connection, but only 1:15 was left in the game. Stringer attempted and onside kick, but Enterprise recovered, and milked the rest of the clock.

Stringer [1-2] will travel to Lumberton next Friday night. Enterprise [3-0] will host Enterprise Lincoln.
