POPLARVILLE, Miss. — The off-season only started about a month ago for Pearl River head women's basketball coach Scotty Fletcher but that hasn't stopped him from adding to his already talented roster like he did Monday when the Wildcats announced the signing of Bryanna Taylor.
"We are thrilled to add another player to this signing class," Fletcher said. "Bryanna and her family will be an instant fit for our campus, community and program."
Taylor adds to a recruiting class that includes Biloxi standout Marcavia Shavers, Pearl's Keshunti Nichols, Puckett's Alliyah Gray and Meridian's Tymesha Reed.
Taylor is coming to Pearl River after a stellar high school career at Terry, where she helped take Terry to the 2019 6A State Championship game her junior year.
Taylor was a two time All-District player for Terry, a 6A South State All-Star her junior year and averaged 19 points per game and 8.7 rebounds per game as a senior.
Fletcher is thrilled to have such a skilled forward join his program.
"She is a very versatile player with a high motor and had some impressive games with scoring and rebounding," Fletcher said. "A key ingredient for success as a player and team is being able to control the glass on both ends of the floor and she has a knack for rebounding the basketball.
"I feel certain our fans will enjoy watching her play and she will be a true ambassador for our program."
